MotoFactory Опубликовано 2 апреля Опубликовано 2 апреля The KTM Freeride E is back! The second generation of KTM’s electric trail bike is back on the radar and it is to be released as a 50-state-legal dual-sport bike. Originally announced over a year ago and scheduled as a 2026 model, the Freeride E was quietly removed from KTM’s line-up amid corporate restructuring last year. Now that the company has its financial house more in order, the Freeride E is back in the line and will be the company’s first 2027 model. The official press release from KTM follows: The 2027 KTM Freeride E is to arrive this summer. KTM’s FREERIDE philosophy of motorcycling liberty endures for 2027 thanks to the latest edition of the KTM FREERIDE E: the company’s flagship expression of effortless, low maintenance but high-quality engineering in electric mobility while hiking the fun factor. For over a decade the KTM FREERIDE E has thrust many advantages of the concept directly into riders’ faces: a low-emissions, quiet, easy-to-service, durable offroad motorcycle that breaks boundaries for when and where it can be ridden. Better still, the 2027 model is now street-legal, meaning a new world of riding opportunities, offroad or on, have been opened up. The convenience has been matched by performance: instant and grin-inducing torque powered by a 63.9 lb MX50 Lithium-Ion battery providing 2-3 hours of typical Enduro-esque riding time. Combine these elements with a purpose-built chassis, latest-generation WP XACT suspension, Braketec hardware and Michelin Enduro Medium tires and the KTM FREERIDE E lives up to its name. The new model features interchangeable battery tech, 8h charging time. For 2027 KTM has squeezed the peak power to 19.2 kW from the inaudible, efficient, waterproof and dustproof motor that also buzzes with 37 Nm of torque. The output can be administered through three ride modes and three energy recouperation settings that help extend the range and potential of the KTM FREERIDE E. The electronic package is advanced, featuring a ‘rollover’ sensor and adjustable traction control and relayed through clear LEDs. The new KTM FREERIDE E has shaved weight and tips the scales at 246.9 lb (112 kg). The same agile and precision-engineered chrome-molybdenum steel frame surrounds the engine package and battery architecture. The subframe is made from aluminum and glass-fiber reinforced nylon and the seat height has now crept up to 35.8 in (910 mm). More gains have been made with the battery capacity with a slight increase compared to the previous model. Riders can count on a 5.5 kWh from the innovative ‘swappable’ technology and the battery itself will easily withstand over 1,000 charging cycles before a dip towards 80% effectiveness. The KTM FREERIDE E has been crafted on the immeasurable input of KTM’s offroad pedigree, countless hours of R&D as well as careful study of the latest hardware and software that applies to motorcycles in the electric segment. A refreshed colorway and renewed aesthetic add to the sensation that riders are steering a symbol of the present and a view of tomorrow. 2027 KTM FREERIDE E – HIGHLIGHTS 2027 model with refined power delivery and a modest battery capacity increase compared to the previous generation All the benefits of the latest technology in an electric motorcycle: low emissions and maintenance, ease of use – handlebar brake set-up – while now in a street-legal trim Purposeful chassis engineering with a chrome-molybdenum steel frame and a motorcycle weight of 246.9 lb (112 kg) Adjustable WP XACT and XPLOR suspension and 21” and 18” aluminum wheels Interchangeable battery tech, 8h charging time with 660 W unit, 1.5h with 3.3 kW power charger (0-100%) and 5.5 kWh battery capacity for 2-3 hours of Enduro riding time Key power stats:19.2 kW peak power, 37 Nm of torque, and a top speed of 59 mph / 95 km/h The 2027 KTM FREERIDE E will be available through authorized KTM dealers early this summer.
